Update on vouchers

posted in: Member News 0

Sweet Louise has proudly supported our members for over 15 years through the work of our Support Coordinators and also financially with our voucher system.

Recently, due to changes in economic circumstances in New Zealand and globally, we have had to take the difficult decision to review our voucher offering to members for the period 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021.

From 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021, our voucher offer to each member will be reduced to $200 per annum. During this 12-month period, our Board and the entire Sweet Louise team will continue to work hard to support you and all our members to the best of our ability.

Sweet Louise is aware of the challenges and additional costs faced by those living with advanced breast cancer and we hope the vouchers will continue to ease some of this burden.

All other Sweet Louise member services will remain unaffected. We are 100% committed to the ongoing provision of our support through member meetings, regular contact with our Support Coordinators, Family Time and our vouchers.

Further information:

QI still have $400 worth of vouchers left that were issued before July 2020, can I still use all of them?
A: Yes, all vouchers issued prior to 1 July 2020 are valid as noted on the voucher.  Any new vouchers sent on or after 1 July 2020 will be reduced to the value of $200.

Q I usually use $200 on a Family Time experience. Do I have to use my new voucher allocation to cover this?
A No, Family Time remains unaffected and is additional to the vouchers. You can therefore apply for Family Time as usual in addition to your $200 vouchers.

Q Will my preferred service provider still accept my vouchers?
Yes, we have not made any changes to the service providers at this time. All service providers listed in the directory and on the website will continue to accept all vouchers.

Q Can I pay a top up fee to my service provider to pay for my preferred service?
A Yes, if $200 doesn’t cover your preferred service you can elect to pay the difference to the provider at the time of purchase. Sweet Louise will not be able to refund the additional payment to you and your vouchers will not renew until your next anniversary.

Q If I receive my vouchers in July and spend them all in the same month can I get a top up this year?
Unfortunately, whilst Sweet Louise will continue to monitor the effect of our decision on members, we won’t be topping up the vouchers within the year. Spending them all on one service or within a single transaction means you will need to wait until your next membership anniversary to access additional vouchers.

Q Will my vouchers be permanently reduced to $200?
A No, we hope this is a short-term measure. We will review the impact of the reduction in the value of our vouchers on our members on a month-by-month basis. We aim to increase the voucher allocation from 1 July 2021.

Thank you for your understanding and please do get in touch with your Support Coordinator if you have any questions or concerns.
