Nikki with her children.

Nikki’s story is a painful reminder of how quickly life can change.

One moment, the mum-of-two and school teacher was writing student reports and keeping the wheels turning in her busy home. The next moment, she has a breast cancer diagnosis.

Just two months after that, she learnt the cancer had spread to her bones. And there is no cure.

Nikki says:

"Telling my two girls was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. The heartbreak on their faces when I told them the cancer had spread. It was the worst thing in the world. I felt as though I broke my children’s heart.”

Support for incurable breast cancer
Nikki with her Sweet Louise Support Coordinator, Jenny.

"To those who support Sweet Louise – thank you. Your support eases my stress at a very tough time. Your help gives me the strength and the courage to get through another day and spend precious time with my children.

Having Sweet Louise by my side, having people to talk to, and the vouchers to look forward to, gives me the energy to keep going; to keep on fighting.

Thank you doesn’t cut it. But thank you."
