Sweet Louise cares for some of the most vulnerable women in New Zealand. Women like Cheryl.
Cheryl was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was just 36. Four years later, she was given the devastating news that her cancer had spread to her spine.
The current Covid crisis has made things even more challenging for women like Cheryl. Anxious about the risk of infection, separated from loved ones by social isolation, and increased financial strain.
The incredible news is that right now, donations made before 30 June will be doubled thanks to one generous donor offering to match every dollar you give to help Kiwis with incurable breast cancer.
Cheryl says: “There are so many hidden costs with cancer. The money that people donate to Sweet Louise has helped me when I cannot make ends meet.
“And I have my Sweet Louise Support Coordinator, Nadine, at the end of the phone organising everything for me, I am so grateful for this.”
Your gift today will help us to continue our essential support services for members like Cheryl. That’s personal care and support including:
- phone care calls and regular visits from their local Sweet Louise Support Coordinator
- emergency vouchers for food and petrol
- meal deliveries and home help
- in person and online support groups
Your gift today will us continue our support for women and their families across New Zealand who rely on us for support through their incurable breast cancer diagnosis.
Karen: Sweet Louise offer the kind of support no one else can
COVID-19. Cancer. Children. When those three come together at the one time, you can imagine how hard it must be for a mum to cope.
Karen was only 41 when she received her diagnosis of incurable stage 4 breast cancer.
“I was so shocked. How can this be happening to me? I was young and fit. I cried for myself – but also for my family. Will my kids be left without a mum? Who will look after my parents?”
Karen can tell you just what a difference a kind donation can make at the time of greatest crisis:
“There are times I can’t walk, and times I cannot even stand up to cook. Having Sweet Louise meal deliveries relieves the pressure and stress of providing for my family.”
Donate now to help us continue our support for 730 Kiwi women and their families who rely on us for support through their advanced breast cancer diagnosis.
“Sweet Louise offer the kind of support no one else can. They are there for me when I need to talk. At any time, I can reach out to Sweet Louise and know I am not alone.”
