November: Waikato News from Robyn

The past month seems to have raced by and we are certainly enjoying daylight savings as the weather warms. We had great café meeting in Matamata on Friday with eight of us around Robert Harris’s biggest table. Many thanks to the established Members for making new Members feel so welcome.

There was great interest in our newest provider EAT, as well as the weekend Retreat at Bethel House at Raglan. If anyone is interested in attending the retreat, please contact me and I will get you booked in. The rooms have two single beds so you are encouraged to bring a friend, family member or partner with you.

The school holidays were a busy time for some families and this month there were a number of activities that families from this area enjoyed. The Sound of Music was a great success, and Rainbows End, Rotorua Luge, Lake Rotorua Paddle Boat and Snow Planet have also provided a welcome break for other families.

I am booking our end-of-year meeting this week so will let you know as soon as I have confirmation of the bookings. There has been great interest in identifying a support service for the children of members who are not currently involved with Waikato Hospice. This is proving to be quite a challenge, so in order to address this gap I am meeting with Hospice and Cancer Society representatives shortly. I will keep you updated with the progress being made.
