Pukekohe Members once again met at the Cafe Berne in Pukekohe this month. It is always good to see new and old Members coming along. The next meeting in Pukekohe will be on the Tuesday the 23rd of June.

The West Auckland Cafe Meeting was a lovely affair. We were very pleased to be able to celebrate Winnies 60th birthday. This was a very special celebration for her as she feels healthy, happy and is back at work, all goals which she set four years ago, and back then seemed against the odds.

With lots of Members along we were all very cozy in the snug for the last North Shore Meeting. Megan Schmidt, Service Provider from Physio Active in Albany gave an overview of the PINC Programmes. It was a lot of fun and valuable to hear the exercise options available. Thank you to Megan, our volunteers Sandy and Dianne, and Loaf who donated morning tea for this meeting.

There are a range of PINC Programmes available:

  • PINC Giving Women with Cancer Strength – Sessions can include physio, graduated resistance training, individualised pilates and fatigue management.
  • PINC Next Steps – A group programme that combines pilates, yoga and cardiovascular exercises.
  • Paddle On. Stand Up Paddle Boarding Rehabilitation – A new exercise and rehabilitation programme run by physios and Stand up paddle boarding instructors is currently being piloted.
