IMG_8536-300x200Wishing you all a belated happy Mother’s Day. I do hope you had a lovely day with family and received a few treats!

Here in Palmerston North, 480 women lined up for the Mother’s Day Fun Run, a mixture of walking and running 10km,
raising just over $10.000! The great buzz and energy of the crowd was infectious and there were lots of super costumes with fantastic spot prizes won by some of the lucky participants. If you fancy a look there are some photos at www.womens10kfor10k.co.nz. Lynne Vautier and her amazing team are already planning it all again for next year so that’s very exciting indeed!

We met at our usual haunt, The Cooperage Café for delicious morning tea and then out came our creative ideas to produce a wonderful range of unique cards. It is amazing what one can create from different types of paper, shapes, stickers and glitter making one’s cards very personalised (as pictured).

We also had an interesting discussion about the different types of alternative therapies some may be using in conjunction with their medical treatments. There are many types of alternative therapies available but the most important message is that it is imperative to discuss any alternative treatments you may be taking with your Oncologist to ensure that you are not causing yourself any harm or that the products do not negate the efficacy of your treatment.
