Nicola Mayos from Breast Care Products NZ gave a fun and informative demonstration of lingerie, prostheses and sports wear at our Hamilton Members Meeting.
There was a lot of discussion around who is eligible for Ministry of Health funding towards full or partial prostheses. Please speak to your Breast Nurse to discuss whether you meet the criteria.
Unfortunately, only a couple of Members were able to come to the Thames and Matamata Cafe Meetings. The ladies who did attend were disappointed to miss the friends they have made at previous meetings. I would like to encourage Members to attend the meetings when you can, as the care and support that is shared is truly valued.
I met the Oncology Nurses while in Thames and they were very pleased to hear about Sweet Louise and the services we provide. I was very lucky to enrol a new Member while I was there. Her comment to me was “I came in here feeling heavy and I am leaving with a big smile on my face!”
