December: Waikato News from Lyn

Our last Hamilton meeting had a Christmas theme—Dianne Derbyshire taught us to make simple but very beautiful floral table centres that we can make again and look very ‘clever’ for Christmas. For longer lasting flowers, Dianne advised us to trim all the leaves off the stems which will be in water and to dunk the cut stems in boiling water for a few minutes before placing in a vase. Also change the water every day. Dianne is one of Sweet Louise’s Service Providers—she is also a wonderful photographer.

We also had our first ever Members Meeting in Rotorua. It was wonderful to meet the members there at Columbus Cafe, we had a lovely time getting to know each other over morning tea. We have decided to make this a regular event every alternate month starting in mid March 2016.

The Matamata meeting was well attended and we had a lovely time together, it is always so nice to catch up and make new friends.
