It is hard to believe that this is the last newsletter of the year and that once again Christmas with all its highs and lows is speeding towards us. The Auckland office closes on the 23rd of December and opens again on the 5th of January. We will look forward to hearing from and seeing you again next year.
Dr Sara Rishworth, Palliative Care Specialist from Mercy Hospice, came and spoke to Members at the Mercy Centre meeting about Advance Care Planning. Advance care planning gives everyone a chance to say what’s important to them. It was good to have some time and space to talk through concerns and have questions answered. Sara gave out a great resource “Advance Care Planning Guide” and referred us to www.advancecareplanning.org.nz where this can be downloaded and other information can be accessed.
It was not so summery or Christmassy when North Shore Members old and new got together at Kings Plant Barn for the last meeting of the year. The rain was not able to dampen spirits though and everyone had a great time catching up and sharing stories. Looking forward to sunnier days ahead and catching up in the New Year.
