Clothing fundraiser for Caroline

Cantabrian, Caroline Horton had a passion for people, organising social events and beautiful clothes. After being diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2016, one of her goals was to organise a high-quality, second-hand clothing and accessories fundraising event in Christchurch to raise funds and profile for Sweet Louise. Sadly, Caroline passed away in January 2017 before her wish was realised.

Friends and family joined forces to ensure the first event took place and now hold an annual fundraiser Caroline Horton fundraising Second-hand Clothing and Accessories Sale.

Jan Forsyth, one of Caroline’s best friends and organiser of the fundraising event said:

“Caroline always thought of others and knew the struggles those with metastatic breast cancer faced because she was on the same journey. She often made them care packages or organised social events so they could connect with others. We miss her every day and by doing this event for Sweet Louise, we are making sure her memory carries on and helps others which is what she would have wanted.”

By using a Facebook page with photos of the clothes for sale and raffle prizes, Jan and her team have raised an incredible $5,000 from each of the events.

Thanks so much to Jan and all involved!
